Yellow shea butter: Our yellow shea butter is raw and unrefined. It’s extracted from the nut of the Shea tree that is indigenous to Africa. The yellow shea gets its beautiful color from the root of the Borututu Tree that is mixed into the butter during the milling process. The Borututu Root has antioxidants and antibacterial properties, which enhances and adds to the many benefits of shea butter.

Hi everyone, I am Amoune Omer, President of Mama Africa Shea Butter North America. My journey with MASB began in June 2022, when I returned to my hometown of Hargeisa and had the chance to visit local businesses, including Mama Africa Shea Butter.

At Mama Africa Shea Butter, I discovered the amazing benefits of products such as raw shea butter, African black soap, amla oil, baobab oil, avocado oil, and black castor oil, which I shared on my Instagram story. To my delight, many of my friends and family in North America expressed interest in these products and inquired about purchasing them.

Recognizing the demand for these products in North America, I reached out to Mr. Ahmed Hassan, the founder and CEO of Mama Africa Shea Butter, to discuss the possibility of expanding into North America. During my meeting with Mr. Ahmed, I was thrilled to learn that he was also from North America and had received similar inquiries from friends and family.
