The Mama Africa Shea Butter brand was founded out of a passion for natural skin care products. The founders discovered the benefits of shea butter when searching for a solution to heal their son’s eczema. After trying various products with no success, a friend introduced them to raw and unrefined shea butter, which effectively healed their son’s skin within a week. They were inspired to start their own business after realizing that high-quality shea butter was not readily available in their hometown of Hargeisa.

In 2017, the founders set out to source the freshest Grade A shea butter from West Africa and bring it to the people of Hargeisa. It was not an easy task at first, but they were determined to share the benefits of shea butter with others. They found that the quality of the product spoke for itself and people were quickly won over by its effectiveness. Over time, the business grew and expanded into North America. Today, Mama Africa Shea Butter is a well-known and trusted brand, used by many families to nourish and care for their skin. The founders hope to continue spreading the word about the benefits of shea butter and make it a staple in even more homes.
